Jay Alexander, Lexington, Kentucky.

A voiceover producer and a mobile DJ, under one name — because the two jobs ask for the same thing: listen carefully, prepare properly, and deliver when you said you would.

Alexander Airworks is one person with a booth in one hand and a booth in the other.

The name came from the two halves of the work: air, as in the voice that carries your message, and works, as in the rig that gets loaded, built and run. Jay built the business around a simple standard — the care that goes into a national-sounding read is the same care a wedding reception deserves.

On the voiceover side, that means a treated recording space, a clean signal chain and finished audio delivered in the format your phone system, editor or video platform wants. Business on-hold messages, corporate narration and concert promotion are what he records most, but he reads plenty that never fits a category.

On the DJ side, it means arriving early, testing everything twice and being the calmest person in the room when a schedule slips. Weddings, parties and corporate functions — with a set built around the people actually on the floor.

He works in and around Lexington, Kentucky, and he answers his own phone.

How Jay works.

Answers, not hold music

You get a real reply from Jay, usually the same day, with a straight answer about availability, timing and what the job actually needs.

Early is on time

For an event that means load-in with room to spare and a full sound check before the first guest arrives. For a read it means hitting the date you were given.

Prepared for the second take

Backup cables, spare channels, an alternate read. The point of preparation is that nobody in the room ever notices it was needed.

Voiceover production

A read built for where it plays.

On-hold messages, corporate narration and concert promotion, recorded and delivered by the person you spoke to.

Voiceover

Mobile DJ

A rig that shows up ready.

Weddings, parties and corporate functions, with the sound, lighting and emcee work handled so you can enjoy your own event.
